Mr Merrick plays the Blues in Year 6!

Year 6 had a real treat today when Mr Merrick led our Music lesson and played his Blues guitars in a variety of different Blues styles.
We are beginning a unit of work on Blues and Jazz music and it was a fantastic introduction to our work. The children were particularly interested in his metal `resonator` guitar and `bottle neck` which he used to slide up and down the neck of the guitar to create different harmonic effects.
The children asked lots of thoughtful questions and have developed a good understanding of the history of Blues music. Thank you very much Mr Merrick! We all really enjoyed your playing.
