Bye bye chicks

Today was a sad day in Reception as we had to say goodbye to the chicks. We have had them for a week but they have now sadly grown too big, therefore they have gone to very good homes and we know they will be well looked after.
During the week we have looked at the life cycle of a chick and have done some fantastic writing about them. We have also been keeping a chick diary, tracking the progress that they have made during their stay in Ash/Oak. We will miss the chicks greatly.

Next week we are carrying on with our topic Growth by looking at photographs of the children as babies, discussing how they have developed and also by looking at the cycle of a plant, how plants grow and what they need. We have been working hard on our outdoor area and we now have some fabulous pots for the children to plant sunflowers in, these will be potted next week as well.
